How does Jed know which products to recommend?
Jed — LawnSuite's AI lawn assistant — reads My Shed, where LawnSuite remembers the products and gear you own, before it answers. Ask what to put on this month and it builds the plan from what's already on your shelf, alongside your turf type, soil estimate, climate zone and treatment history — not a generic forum answer. If there's a real gap it'll point you to something you can grab at Bunnings, and it always explains the why.
Do I have to measure my lawn?
Not with a tape measure. You pop the area in once when you set up a zone — rough numbers are fine to start, and you can refine it any time. On Android, Pro members can also trace the lawn on a satellite map and have the area worked out automatically. Either way it's a one-off — after that every dose, watering run and seasonal job is sized to that zone for you.
Are the dosages exact?
As exact as the maths gets. Pick a product, enter your zone area, and the calculator turns the label rate into the precise grams or millilitres for that patch — one product at any rate (including a concentrate dilution), or a multi-product Tank Mix of up to 10 products. That takes the arithmetic out of the shed. One rule though: always read the product label. The calculator does the sums, but the label is the source of truth for rates, safety and timing — follow it.
What if the diagnosis is wrong?
You're always the final call. Snap a photo and Jed identifies the likely pest, disease, weed or deficiency with a confidence score — and below 50% confidence it recommends no treatment, because a wrong spray is worse than no spray. Even above that, you confirm or override before anything is logged. The quick Health Check photo read works the same way: it reports what it sees — green cover, patches, uniformity, mow height — it doesn't make the decision for you.
Is it safe to use near vegetables and fruit trees?
It helps you make safer calls, but it's not a safety guarantee. For edible zones LawnSuite screens out products that aren't permitted there, and steers you toward organic-first options and away from broad-spectrum herbicides near your food plants. LawnSuite does not provide withholding periods — always read and follow the product label and its stated withholding period. Screening out what isn't permitted is not a sign-off that what remains is safe.
What does it cost?
The free tier covers one zone, 7 Jed chats a week (photos welcome in chat), your photo timeline, flow calibration and the single-product dosage calculator (any rate, including concentrate dilutions) — no card needed. Pro adds the full AI, your exact year-round seasonal program (build-your-own DIY programs stay free), weather scheduling, soil-test uploads and multi-product tank-mixing (up to 10 products in one tank), at $149.99/yr (or $14.99/mo); Founding Member pricing is $49.99/yr — locked for life while you're early.
Can I use it offline?
Yes — log treatments, take photos and browse your data without a signal, and it all syncs when you're back online. We've answered this one in full over on the homepage FAQ, so head there for the detail.
Where you stay in charge. Jed supplements your judgement rather than replacing it — you decide what goes on your lawn. The dosage calculator does the sums, but the product label is always the final word on rates, safety and timing.
Honest about the limits: soil figures are a national ~90 m modelled estimate rather than a lab-test substitute, LawnSuite does not provide withholding periods and edible-zone screening is not a guarantee a product is safe, and the Health Check photo read describes what it sees — it isn't a diagnosis.
